Debbie's family and friends will tell you she has always loved art. She has expressed her artistic talents with a variety of art forms, including music, drama, painting, and pencil and charcoal drawing. Her photography, developed later in life, stems from her background of drawing and painting.

Debbie began experimenting with photography in 1990, using a borrowed camera. She immediately fell in love with that form of art and searched for opportunities to develop her photography skills. She studied photogrpahy at an art school in Kansas City, Missouri and continued her studies after returning to her native Northwest Arkansas.

She specialized in babies and children, high school senior portraits, and weddings. Many people's portraits seem stiff and posed, but Debbie likes to produce portraits that portray the person's individuality and personality. Her philosophy of photography is to capture the moment.
